After months of speculation, FC Barcelona have secured the services of English forward Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on a loan deal that includes an option to buy.
“FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Marcus Rashford until June 30, 2026. The agreement also includes a purchase option for the English forward,” the club announced officially.
At 27 years old, Rashford will wear the No. 14 jersey at Camp Nou — a number once famously worn by Thierry Henry, one of his childhood idols.
Although Rashford was first linked with Barcelona in the January window, Financial Fair Play constraints prevented any formal approach. However, the move was reignited this summer after Barcelona missed out on priority targets Nico Williams and Luis Diaz.

Once it became clear that neither player would join, Barça quickly turned their attention to Rashford, who was reportedly holding out for a dream move to Spain.
The agreement includes an option to make the deal permanent for a reported €30 million, while Barcelona will cover his €14 million gross annual salary, following a significant pay cut from the player.
Rashford arrived in Barcelona over the weekend, passed his medical tests on Monday, and joined his new teammates in training on Tuesday — even before the announcement was made public.
He becomes Barcelona’s third marquee signing of the summer transfer window, after goalkeeper Joan Garcia and winger Roony Bardghji.
