Leeds United have reportedly entered the chase for Mehdi Taremi, with the newly-promoted Premier League side looking to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via FCInterNews), Leeds are set to compete with Besiktas, Fulham, and West Ham United for the 33-year-old Iranian forward, who has been placed on the transfer list by Inter Milan.
Despite attracting interest from several clubs across Europe, Taremi is yet to secure a move, and Inter are still waiting for formal offers to arrive. The Nerazzurri are hoping to offload him quickly, especially as they look to finalize a move for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman.
Taremi, once a key name in European football, has seen limited minutes at San Siro and is considered surplus to requirements under Simone Inzaghi.
🔄 Leeds Step In
Back in the top tier after just one season in the Championship, Leeds United—under Daniel Farke—are eager to make strategic signings to avoid another swift relegation. Adding experience to their frontline is seen as a priority, and Taremi could provide both depth and a different attacking dimension.
While Besiktas are believed to be leading the race, Leeds’ Premier League status and potential financial edge could give them the upper hand. Fulham have also expressed interest, but Leeds are reportedly pushing hard behind the scenes.
Although his stint in Italy failed to live up to expectations, Taremi’s pedigree and international experience could make him a smart pickup for a side looking to stabilize in the Premier League.
