Manchester United have officially signed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a high-profile transfer that sees the Cameroon international commit to the club until 2030, with an option to extend for an additional year.
The 25-year-old forward, who starred for Brentford in the 2024–25 season, joins United in a deal worth £65 millionupfront, with a further £6 million in performance-related add-ons, according to a club source.
🔥 One of the Premier League’s Top Attackers
Mbeumo enjoyed a breakout campaign last season, notching 20 league goals—ranking fourth in the Premier League behind only Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22). His performances helped Brentford secure a solid 10th-place finish.
A versatile forward, Mbeumo operated primarily on the right wing but also excelled as a centre forward, starting every league match for Brentford last season. Since arriving from Troyes in 2019, he has made 242 appearances, scoring 70 goals and registering 51 assists for the Bees.
💬 “The Club of My Dreams”
Speaking after the announcement, Mbeumo said:
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams, the team whose shirt I wore growing up.”
“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit of character to reach another level here, learning from (manager) Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.”
United’s Ambitions Under Amorim
United’s director of football Jason Wilcox praised the new arrival, stating:
“Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional. His remarkable consistency has placed him among the most productive players in England over the last three seasons.”
“We are delighted to have secured another one of our primary targets ahead of the pre-season tour.”
The Red Devils will have three key fixtures in the United States to integrate their new signing:
- July 26 vs West Ham (New Jersey)
- July 30 vs Bournemouth (Chicago)
- August 3 vs Everton (Atlanta)
Mbeumo’s arrival signals another bold step in United’s ongoing rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim, as they aim to return to domestic and European prominence in the upcoming season.
