The transfer race for Dutch sensation Xavi Simons is heating up — and now Inter Milan have joined the pursuit of the €70 million-rated midfielder, previously linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Earlier this year, Paris Saint-Germain sold Simons to RB Leipzig for a reported €80 million package, with €55 million paid upfront. Crucially, PSG retained a sell-on clause, keeping them in the loop on any future deals involving the highly-rated 22-year-old.
Simons has enjoyed a strong campaign in the Bundesliga and is reportedly open to a move this summer, with a return to London a genuine possibility. According to CaughtOffside, Simons could be available for around €60 million, and early talks are underway with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs.

However, Tuttomercatoweb’s Marco Conterio now reports that Inter Milan are seriously exploring the possibility of bringing Simons to Serie A. Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has been in direct contact with Simons’ agent Ali Barat, as the Nerazzurri search for a marquee attacking signing. Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman remains another target, but Simons is seen as a more high-profile option.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Chelsea will hold further talks with Simons’ camp, as they aim to reach a verbal agreement. Chelsea are eager but hope to negotiate the price down from Leipzig’s current €70M valuation.
RB Leipzig, conscious of Simons’ contract expiring in June 2027, are open to a sale now — particularly to avoid any last-minute scramble before he enters the final year of his deal.
Whether it’s the Premier League or Serie A, one thing is clear: Xavi Simons is on the move — and he won’t come cheap.
